WHITE-COLLAR CRIME

Criminal defence in
financial and corruption cases.

Substantial experience with complex criminal matters, where official decision-making, financial records and individual responsibility require careful analysis.

My criminal practice has a particular focus on defending allegations of corruption, offences against official duty, and economic and financial crime. Experience in criminal matters is supported by an understanding of institutional processes, administration and finance, allowing the case file to be assessed in its practical context.

These allegations can affect liberty, professional reputation, assets and business continuity. Defence begins by identifying the conduct attributed to each person, the powers they held and the evidence supporting the prosecution's claims.

Official duty and authority

Defence against allegations of abuse of official position or authority, misappropriation and fraud in office, misuse of official information, and offences connected with the exercise of public functions.

Corruption and conflicts of interest

Defence in matters involving the receiving or giving of bribes, trading in influence, conflicts of interest and asset declaration obligations. Assessment of individual roles, communications, alleged benefits and the context of decision-making.

Public procurement and contracts

Defence against allegations of abuse and fraud in public procurement. Review of tender files, bid evaluation, supporting documents, contract performance and claims of loss to public funds.

Financial and economic matters

Defence in fraud, tax evasion, false financial documentation and offences connected with transactions or business activities. Records and expert reports are examined against the responsibility alleged in each case.

Money laundering and assets

Defence against money laundering allegations, including analysis of the source of assets, transactions and the knowledge attributed to the person concerned. Representation concerning seizure, freezing and applications for confiscation, as appropriate.

A defence built on the evidence

The engagement may include advice before questioning, defence during an investigation, challenges to evidence and the indictment, trial representation and available legal remedies. Where necessary, legal analysis is supported by financial or technical assessment from relevant professionals.

Individual assessment of responsibility

An administrative or contractual irregularity does not, by itself, establish criminal liability. The elements of the specific offence, the required state of mind and the relevant evidence must be examined. The defence strategy is developed for each case individually.
